The City Gallery Offsite
In a regenerating city spawning new contemporary architecture at a rapid rate, the streets of Leicester from 9 March 2009 will now be immersed into contemporary art as The City Gallery takes to the city's streets. As part of The City Gallery's offsite programme from 9 March - 5 April 2009 four national and international artists will take over four city billboard locations with new works. The four participating artists are Rana Begum, Simon & Tom Bloor, Raimi Gbadamosi & April Gertler.
The artist's new works will be shown for a four week period on Leicester billboard sites. The billboards are situated on Vaughan Way (ring road) directly across from the new Highcross centre, on one of the cities key arteries - the A47, the former city bus and tram depot on Abbey Park Road across from the city park and Forest Road next to cities railway line.
Rana Begum's work is on display on the corner of Nedham Street and Humberstone Road. LE2 0HB
